The story

André Homem de Mello was the first Brazilian to sail solo around the world (2001–2002), spending six months at sea. He has taught offshore sailing since 1999 and has trained more than 2,500 students.

An ASA-certified instructor and NauticEd-accredited, André is also the author of the book "Diário de Bordo" (Ship's Log) and the subject of the documentary "Sozinho no Fim do Mundo" (Alone at the End of the World).

Sailing Adventures pioneered both distance and in-person sailing education in Brazil, and is based in Ilhabela, São Paulo.
